Packi'talks #3: Jacques Daquin, President of Cartonnages Gourio

The DNA of Packi'talks 🎙️

The transformation of our industry is accelerating: new standards, new uses, digital workshops, digitalization of customer relations, E-Commerce, Web-to-Pack... the packaging industry is undergoing a complete revolution.

In this podcast, we will address this subject with those who are shaping the packaging industry of today and tomorrow, to inspire you in your own digital and managerial transformation.

Jacques Daquin, our new guest

In 7 years, I have rolled out my plan in 3 stages.

First the People, because we industrialists have the same raw materials, the same machines and the same customers, so the only way to differentiate ourselves is through the people. (...) The second point is the digitization and digitalization of our companies (...), it is absolutely necessary to include it in a well-thought-out strategy and so we changed the entire IT system (...). And thirdly, we must not forget that we are an industry, (...) we have invested 1.5 million euros in machines, mainly European ones (...), having European manufacturers means having the guarantee of extremely fast troubleshooting and being very agile. These 3 points serve, in our profession, three strategic axes, which are: small and medium series, complexity and service.”

Jacques Daquin - with his 30 years of experience in the cardboard industry - took over Cartonnages Gourio in 2016, a Breton cardboard manufacturer based in Pommeret (22).

The company is now at the cutting edge of technology, and has undergone technical, IT and digital transformations in order to always reach a wider target and go faster, further. By manufacturing from 99% French raw materials, the company makes it a point of honor to adopt a responsible CSR approach. In line with its commitments and local ties, it supplies more than 800 customers in Brittany

In this podcast, Jacques Daquin talks - among other things - about the renewal and vision of the company, the determinants of successful computerization and digitalization, and the ability of Cartonnages Gourio to adapt to new social and environmental constraints
